Welcome to École Dr. Brosseau Catholic School and the 2026-2027 school year!
The middle school years are important ones. Grades 5–8 are a time when students are changing quickly. They are becoming more independent, figuring out who they are, testing their abilities, building stronger friendships, and beginning to make choices that shape the kind of person they want to become. That is why I believe there is something special about a school built specifically around these important years.
At Dr. Brosseau, our goal is simple to say, even if it takes a great deal of care to live out each day. Rooted in our Catholic faith, we want every student to know that they are created in the image and likeness of God and possess an inherent, God-given dignity. No matter where someone may be on their faith journey, they are welcome, they are loved, and they belong here. From that foundation, we seek to know, support, and challenge each student as they discover their gifts, grow in confidence and character, and become the person God is calling them to be.
Our Catholic faith is at the heart of that work. It shapes how we treat one another, how we respond when someone is struggling, how we celebrate success, and how we help students understand that their lives have purpose. We want our students to recognize their God-given gifts and learn to use them with humility, courage, compassion, and service to others.
As principal, one of the things I value most is knowing our students and families personally. I want students to feel comfortable saying hello in the hallway, asking for help, sharing a success, or coming to us when something is not going well. Strong relationships matter, but so do high expectations. Our students deserve both.
In our English and French Immersion programs, students learn as part of one caring school community. Our teachers work hard to make learning clear, purposeful, and appropriately challenging. We focus on strong teaching, responsive support, and helping students become increasingly confident and independent learners. Just as importantly, we pay attention to the whole child. Students need to feel safe, connected, respected, and encouraged if they are going to take risks, grow, and succeed.
There are many ways for students to find their place at Dr. Brosseau. Faith, leadership, athletics, the arts, service, extracurricular activities, and our new St. Sebastian Sports Program give students opportunities to discover strengths, build friendships, develop perseverance, and contribute to something larger than themselves.
What I am most proud of, though, is our people. Our staff know these years well. They care about students, hold them accountable, celebrate their growth, and work closely with families when support is needed. There is a genuine sense here that we are responsible for one another.
Ultimately, École Dr. Brosseau Catholic School is a place where faith, learning, relationships, and high expectations come together during some of the most formative years of a child’s life. Each day, we work to ensure our students are known, supported, challenged to grow, and reminded that they belong. It is a privilege to serve our students and families as they grow in faith, learning, confidence, and character.
