Dr. Brosseau Catholic School’s French Immersion students came together to celebrate Francophone Month with a joyful outdoor carnival! Through traditional French games and laughter-filled activities, students experienced the richness of Francophone culture in an engaging and meaningful way. This special day highlighted not only the joy of the French language and culture, but also the strong sense of belonging within our program.
Bravo à tous for making this day such a success!

Today, Lakeland Catholic honours the women in our division, our schools, and our communities who lead with faith and serve with great love — often through the small, faithful acts that shape lives in lasting ways.
“The Lord bless you, my daughter. You are known as a woman of noble character.” – Ruth 3:11
May we continue to recognize and support the women whose dedication, wisdom, and compassion strengthen our schools and support student success each day.

March’s Catholic Social Teaching calls us to recognize the importance of local voices, shared responsibility, and collaborative leadership. It teaches that while governments and institutions play an essential role in supporting the common good, they should not replace the wisdom, initiative, and dignity of individuals, families, and communities.
In our schools, Subsidiarity is reflected when we empower students, families, staff, and school leaders to contribute to decisions that affect them. It encourages us to work together, and supporting one another at the appropriate level. Solutions are thoughtful, responsive, and rooted in community.

École Notre Dame High School proudly welcomed Michél Bénac, lead singer of the Franco-Ontarian band LGS, for a special presentation delivered entirely in French — a true treat for our French Immersion students.
Alongside students from Dr. Brosseau School, learners had the opportunity to experience music, storytelling, and cultural reflection all in French! Michél shared his personal journey, beginning his career in English before recognizing that his path was rooted in French culture and the importance of strengthening Francophone communities across Canada.
This meaningful experience was made possible through our partnership with the ACFA Régionale de Bonnyville–Cold Lake (Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta), whose support continues to enrich French-language opportunities in our region.
Authentic language experiences like this deepen confidence, cultural pride, and connection for our students.

At Lakeland Catholic, safety and belonging are lived daily in our classrooms and hallways.
A greeting by name.
An invitation to belong.
A kind word.
Standing beside someone who feels alone.
Because every child is created in the image and likeness of God, dignity is inherent and belonging is intentional.
This is how we form hearts in Christ — by doing small things with great love, every day.
