Today, we celebrate the gift of Catholic education, a place where faith and learning are anchored in Christ. Guided by His light, our schools are communities where hope is nurtured, knowledge is strengthened, and every child is seen as a precious creation of God.
“We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters the inner shrine behind the curtain.”
— Hebrews 6:18-19
As we reflect on this year’s provincial Catholic Education Sunday and Catholic education week theme, Anchored in Christ: A Beacon of Hope, we give thanks for the students, families, educators, and parish partners who journey together in faith, keeping our Catholic schools a radiant witness of God’s love.
We invite you to read this year’s special Pastoral Letters from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon, reflecting on the gift of Catholic education. Please note that Catholic Education Week has been postponed to May 9–16, 2026.

October: The Month of the Most Holy Rosary
During October, the Catholic Church invites us to pray the Holy Rosary. This beautiful devotion draws us closer to Christ through the intercession of His Blessed Mother, guiding us in grace.

As October begins, our focus turns to The Common Good. This teaching calls us to look beyond ourselves and work together so that every person has the chance to thrive.
You can learn more about all of the Catholic Social Teachings, along with helpful resources for your family, at: https://www.lrcssd.ca/page/catholic-social-teachings

Join us in wearing orange on Friday as we recognize the impact of Residential Schools and honour Survivors. Together, we can learn, remember, and walk toward reconciliation.
Let us show that Every Child Matters.

Fire drills take only a few minutes and play an important role in supporting student safety and preparedness in our schools.

This Wednesday, our Bobcats will lace up for the Terry Fox Run in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. 💙
Don’t forget to bring:
✔️ A water bottle
✔️ Proper footwear
✔️ “Toonies for Terry” to help continue the fight against cancer. Every step makes a difference!
All proceeds to be donated to the Terry Fox Cancer Research Foundation. Terry started a marathon against cancer, and together, we can FINISH IT. ✨

ÉNDHS Vice Principal James de Sousa and his band students brought a wide range of instruments to École Dr. Brosseau Middle School — creating an unforgettable Instrument Zoo!
From trumpets to trombones, students had the chance to explore, listen, and even try them out. What a fun, hands-on way to discover the joy of music! 🎶

Parents stepped in to cover teacher supervisions so staff could lock in on a Lunch & Learn - teachers had 45 minutes of focused collaboration and professional learning. The work we got done in that short time was outstanding and greatly impactful!
It truly takes a village and we can't say enough how grateful we are for our positive school culture and our parent community that’s always ready to step up and work together to support our students. Your support makes all the difference. 👊
Thank you to ALL parents and guardians for everything you do - we blessed to be partners in your child's Catholic Education!

Families, don’t forget to check out our weekly Bugle for all the latest updates, important reminders, and upcoming events at École Dr. Brosseau School! 🐾
