🌟 Classroom Connections in 6D! 🌟
Last Friday, 6D had the privilege of welcoming Ms. Blanco into their classroom. As one of our amazing school custodians, Ms. Blanco usually works behind the scenes—but this visit flipped the script!
She took time to introduce herself, answer thoughtful questions, and build genuine connections with the students. 💬🤝
Bonus takeaway: 6D gained a new appreciation for the work custodians do—and a better understanding of how small actions (like cleaning up after ourselves in the classroom!) can make a big impact. 🧹💙

Today, Grade 8 students from Dr. Brosseau School spent time at École Notre Dame High School as part of their transition to Grade 9. Guided by NDHS student ambassadors, they explored the school, made connections, and received a warm, heartfelt welcome!
Students were also treated to a behind-the-scenes preview of tonight’s Spring Band Performance, giving them a glimpse into the vibrant arts programming at NDHS!
Superintendent Sheldon Germain was on hand to greet the students and offer encouragement as they prepare for this exciting next chapter.

Today is World Catholic Education Day!
Lakeland Catholic celebrates the sacred mission of Catholic education - where faith is lived, truth is boldly upheld, and Christ is the centre of all we do.
We give thanks for the gift of publicly funded Catholic education, where students are formed in mind, body, and spirit.
Lakeland Catholic prays for all students, staff, families, and leaders who witness the Gospel each day through teaching, learning, and service.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our schools in wisdom, grace, and truth.

This Thursday, May 29, we invite all school communities to wear blue in honour of World Catholic Education Day and in devotion to Mary, Mother of God.
In the Catholic tradition, blue symbolizes piety, sincerity, and the faithful motherhood of Mary.
As Catholic educators, we look to Mary as our model - gentle in love, bold in faith, and devoted to her Son, our saviour, Jesus Christ.

Join Lakeland Catholic on Thursday May 29 for World Catholic Education Day! Celebrated 40 days after Easter, on the Feast of the Ascension. On this day, we honour the sacred mission of Catholic education, where academic excellence and spiritual formation walk hand in hand.
From the earliest learners to graduating leaders, Catholic schools help students discover their identity as beloved children of God.
Let us rejoice in the gift of Catholic education - shared in classrooms, lived in faith, and led by Christ.

🌱 Growing with Purpose! 🐾
Some of our amazing Grade 5 & 6 students have been busy planting and growing catnip — and it’s all for a great cause! 🌿
As part of a library project focused on giving back to the community, the students are nurturing these plants with care and love. Once the catnip is fully grown, it will be donated to our local SPCA to bring a little extra joy to the cats waiting for their forever homes. 💚🐱
We’re so proud of their hard work and compassion in action!
